As one of the Ingredient Hubs for Sheffield Beer Week (adjuncts) Hop Hideout will be welcoming American award winning craft brewery, Hardywood Park. They’ll be hosting a week long tap takeover – draught and bottles/cans; so you can dip in at your own pace through the week. It was a chance meeting Jules had in London in 2017 with their Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Richard, that brought this event idea together. The global beer World is a small place!

On Saturday 10th March they will crack open one special bottle to share round at 2pm and 6pm. No tickets, small tasters, once they’re gone, they’re gone. Mark the date in your diary and it could be a good time to pop in before or after Indie Beer Feast!

The brewery was founded in 2011 by Eric McKay and Patrick Murtaugh and uses local Virginia ingredients in their beers such as the V.I.P.A. They also have highly rated beers with lots of interesting additions – Gingerbread Stout and Virginia Blackberry (Reserve Series). A fresh shipment is arriving just before Sheffield Beer Week and they’re looking forward to showcasing a number of these great tasting brews. Of course showing adjuncts ingredients such as fruit and spices.

To kick off Sheffield beer at Shakespeares we have daecided to showcase a bunch of barrel aged beers in cask and keg from 5pm on Monday 12th March 2018. The idea is to showcase different types of barrels on different styles of beer for some crazy combinations.

It’s Sheffield Beer Week and what better way to celebrate the vast array of beery goodness in Sheffield….tickets go live 06 Feb at 12:30pm!

Head Chef Brez will be preparing 4 courses of delicious food, all made from ingreadients saved from becoming landfill by The Real Junk Food Project Sheffield. That’s not all though…the 4 courses will be expertly paired with 4 of Sentinel’s beers, fresh from the tanks and brewed right behind you! Alex Barow, Sentinel’s MD will be on hand to tell us all about the beers and why they match with the dishes. Expect an evening of great food, great beer and great company all for a good cause!

Doors are at 19:00, the meal is served at 19:30
Your £5 (+ eventbrite fee) pays for your 4 x 1/3 pint beers
The food is available ‘pay as you feel’ on the night, we accept cash and card and the team will be on hand to discuss the project and how your contributions help us reduce food waste in Sheffield.
Dietary requirements (super important!): Please let us know asap if you or any of your group have any allergies or other requirements. We tend to cook a meat dish, a veggie dish and a vegan dish per course for the numbers that have requested it. Sometimes the vegan and veggie dish will be the same. It all depends on what Brez has up his sleeve and the ingredients we get in.
Tickets are available in groups of 1-4. We only have 30 places so can’t take large groups.
Let us know if you can’t make it, we always have a long waiting list for these events and will refund you then release the tickets to the next people. We don’t want to end up wasting food ourselves as no-shows can lead to this happening.

Dave Pickersgill (editor of ‘Sheffield Real Heritage Pubs’  www.sheffieldcamra.org.uk/rhp  and Pub Heritage Officer for Sheffield CAMRA) will host this walking tour around some of the entries in the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) ‘Yorkshire’s Real Heritage Pubs’ book. Also included are a number of ‘try also’ pubs which include aspects of architectural merit.

Route: commence at ‘Fagans’ and proceed to the ‘Dog and Partridge’ via a short stop outside the ‘Grapes.’ After a short refreshment break, we will proceed past the ‘Red Deer’ and ‘Bloo88,’ before completing the walk at ‘The Bath Hotel.’

For Sheffield Beer Week 2018 we are having the theme of hops. This means that for the Saturday of beer week we are picking our favourite brewery on cask and our favourite brewery on keg that both specialise in hops.
On March 17th at Shakespeares we will have a full takeover of 8 Cloudwater kegs and 7 Howling Hops casks on from midday for a full day of hoppy goodness.Line up for each brewery to be announced closer to the date.

Join us for the closing party of Sheffield Beer Week 2018 at our shiny* new onsite brewery taproom. We’ll be opening the doors for the first time at 15:00 until the taps run dry for a beery shindig and the chance to drink beers direct from the source.

We’ll be showcasing a range of collaboration brews in cask and keg running the gamut of styles including sours, fruit beers, stouts and beers made with lots and lots of hops. These will include brews with our Sheffield beery pals at Lost Industry Brewing, Steel City Brewing Sheffield, Blue Bee Brewery,Hopjacker Brewery and Sheffield’s smallest brewery, Regather, some of the finest hop peddlers around in North Riding Brewery Ltd, Hopcraft BreweryWaen Brewery and a special brew combining Norfolk malt and a Sheffield ingredient to celebrate the ties between Sheffield Beer week and Norwich City Of Ale.

Made to order pizza will be available for delivery from the good folks at Nether Edge Pizza Company who are based just round the corner. More details as we slowly become more organised! Including a meet the brewer(s) of some kind.
