The Old Shoe love Balance because it’s not only run by a wonderful and incredibly friendly team, but they love to experiment around the borders of beer. They’ve blended beers with cider from UK cidery Torn Plant, produced beers with wine like qualities, as well as using ingredients that push the boundaries on what beer is normally made with. It holds sentimental value as it was planted in dedication to the founders of our charity, Ethel and Gerald Haythornthwaite. You will contribute to the ongoing maintenance and enhancement of this unique woodland, creating a thriving habitat for plants and wildlife to flourish. No prior experience is necessary
– just bring your enthusiasm and a willingness to contribute to a variety of tasks including path maintenance, dead hedging, dry stone walling and creating habitat piles and logstacks for wildlife.
