Sheffield Hallam University student beer-focused group, Hallam Hops, are hosting a beer dinner at BrewDog. The event, Sip, Sip Hooray!, will be working in partnership with local charity, The Cathedral Archer Project, who offer great support to homeless and vulnerable people within Sheffield. Sip, Sip Hooray’s main focus is to offer an educational approach to drinking beer accompanied with a marriage of different flavours within food. The event includes four taster courses, each accompanied by a generous craft beer sample to enable you to discover new flavours and excite your taste buds. Beeches of Walkley Beer & Sampling

Beeches of Walkley host a beer, cheese and ale sausages sampling day at their award winning farm shop. They’ll be dipping into their large range of locally stocked beer from breweries such as Bradfield, Thornbridge, Kelham Island, Acorn, North Union, Brew Foundation, Wellbeck Abbey and Lost Industry. There will be a Lost Industry meet the brewer at 11am. Look out for Bradfield Brewery prize giveaways throughout the day.

For the first run of Sheffield’s Mikkeller Running Club Chapter meet at Hop Hideout for a 5km route (jaunt up to Millhouses Park and back).
All levels of runners welcome, this first route is just to ease everyone in.
On return to the Clubhouse (Hop Hideout) enjoy the refreshment of beer!
From April onwards, the runs will be the first Saturday of each month.

Join us at True North Brew Co’s new brewhouse and tap room in Sheffield city centre to celebrate the launch of Sheffield Beer Week. A big thanks to True North Brew Co for hosting us in their new brew house and tap room very early in its launch. The current space is a work in progress and is in the first phase of redevelopment. It’s greatly appreciated that they’ve opened their doors to Sheffield Beer Week earlier than planned, in order to celebrate beer in this great city. In the 1830’s the Ecclesall Turnpike and River Porter saw rapid growth of new breweries, industry and pubs aided by the new Beerhouse Act.  This guided tour visits Welbeck’s micro-scale Portland House and Wetherspoon’s Sheaf Island. Both serve some of Sheffield’s best beers. We will also see the location and hear the history of three Sheffield breweries: Old Albion, Wheatley and Bates and the much loved Wards. With photographs, memorabilia and stories.

New Barrack Tavern plays hosts to Castle Rock Brewing and their experimental off shoot Traffic Street Special for a Meet the Brewer session. As Castle Rock explain TSS was launched in 2014, “The range of beers are crafted using our new five barrel fermenting vessel and are designed to challenge conventions, with our Traffic Street Special Developer Dan Gilliland given the freedom to experiment with not only a variety of different flavours and yeasts, but also with the process itself”.
