Susanna founded Little Pomona Orchard & Cidery with her husband, James, in 2015, convinced the time was right for artisan cider to show their true colours – complex, fascinating drinks with depth and panache. Fast becoming one of the UKs foremost cider and perry producers, for Little Pomona it’s all about the fruit. Spontaneous fermentation, no filtration, back sweetening or artificial carbonation. There’s experimentation too – co-ferments with quince and damson for example – and innovation. Little Pomona pioneered keg conditioning, plus collaborations with the likes of Deya and Pastore breweries. The community has always been vital. Taking a leaf out of the world of women in beer, Susanna co-led the creation of the Cider Women group in 2019, fervently believing that women’s contribution to the world of cider needs to be both recognised and encouraged. A prominent cider writer and experienced cider judge, Susanna is the author of The Cider Insider, and in 2021 was given CAMRA’s Pomona Award for her long-term commitment and work for the cider and perry industry.

Brodies Tap Takeover at The Crow & Shakespeares
Saturday 11th March
Where: The Crow, 33 Scotland Street. S3 7BS / Shakespeares, 146-148 Gibraltar Street. S3 8UB
Time: Check venue for opening hours
Cost: Free entry
What: BIG BANGING BRODIE’S TAP TAKEOVER BETWEEN Shakespeares FINE SELVES AND their SMASHING NEIGHBOURS The Crow Inn
Brodie’s Fabulous Beers are back and they were very, very lucky to have them invite the pubs down to brew a beer ahead of an absolutely massive takeover that’s so big we’ve had to split it between 2 pubs. We can’t thank Tom, Heather, and Andy enough for their lovely hospitality down in Hereford and we feel privileged to host their official (ish) Northern Launch
WE’RE FLIPPING SERIOUSLY EXCITED FOR THIS. We made a beer with a malt bill that nearly broke our arms, an amount of white chocolate that we thought for a second might be a joke, macadamia nuts roasted to perfection in a pizza oven, and every white chocolate cookie we could find. Oh and a sack of lactose. A SACK. ![]()
